I know it can be done. I've seen a few on the boards around here. Can't remember any names though offhand. Could probably search and find some though.

YES! Simple to do. Takes 5 mins to mod the shock to fit.

I think the rear is to long but not sure. Some people put 450r rear shocks on their 400ex's to lower them a bit but the stock 400ex rear shock is better than the 450r rear.

Yfz450 shocks set at lowest ride hight.

I would like to know how well you like have the yfz shocks on your quad compared to the stockers....and also does it indeed mess with the geometry of the quad like some people say, also how much lower does it make your quad sit?

Why not just get some Works?
That way they're built for the quad, your weight and riding style.
I don't understand why ya'll want to do this.:ermm:

I understand where you coming from. But the reason I was asking this because I can get a pair of yfz shocks locally for like only $80, so if they work a lot better than the stockers I have, why not do this upgrade?

Go to the thread 450r shocks on 400ex. Then go to page 4 and scroll down a little and it has info on how the yfz shocks are on the ex.

People will say that its going to handle like snit and mess stuff up but thats just total bs. They all are just going to say its snitty shocks cause they eather have elkas or just beleve all the bs. My yfz shocks would handle more than elkas.
