i need a skid plate for my chasis, and i came across the plastic ones and so i was wondering if the metal ones are needed, as the plastic one on my s/a has held up perfect so far....my choices are DG fat or regular, Pro Armour and Perfex Plastic what woudl you guys recomend for the chasis thanks?

depending on what kind of riding you are doing.. if you are in areas that have alot of rocks i would go with the metal/aluminum one.. but if it just alot of sand/dirt and if you are not hitting anything hard with the swingarm then go with the plastic on.. i stock one on my 400ex held up for about 5 years til i took it this year on vacation up north and went on some pretty harsh trails.. lets just say i bought a AC skidplate while I was up there.. lol..

The plastic swingarm skids aren't really any good on the eastern coast. Rocks will end up breaking them before too long.
