Oil question???

After reading several post on several websites, I think that the oil that I am using is what may be causing my engine noise and decreased power (see previous post). Right now I am using Honda GN4( synthetic I think, I bought the bike used). As well as engine noise I notice that my bike seems to loose power as it gets hotter. I am really thinking about switching to mobil1 15w-50. What do you guys think? And how often should I change my oil? I know that how you ride is the greatest determining factor, but in general. I think it is better to be safe than sorry. I peobaly have about 10-15 hours on this oil change. CJ

Ok first rule of thumb never buy used oil. LOL And second mobile is fine and its made by pennzoil for all you die hard mobile fans buy the pennzoil its cheaper and the same thing. I prefer mystic sx-8 5w-50w synthetic blend which is made by citgo

The atv was bought used, a month ago, and the oil was in it. He had just changed the oil though. Sorry for the confusion. CJ

I been using Mobil 1 in all our quads since '95... it's great stuff! I usually change it every 20 hours. Wal-Mart sometimes has the 5 quart jugs for $15.
