everyone is buying into the 450 hype, they are going where the money is. A sparks tt and mx pipe is still almost the best you can get. Lrd tells me that is hard to get these guys to make 250r stuff now. I knew for about 2 years, that they didn't work on 250r's anymore, but still sold the pipes.

You are not the only one who is pissed that Sparks isn't making 250R parts. I have had a TT pipe on back order for a long time now. I have called and emailed them, and the answer I got was, we will get to it when the 4 stroke stuff is caught up on. That was 6 months ago......

yeah, we should support the companies who are still putting time in on the 250R motors, i have been on the phone a lot with CT lately, (ordered a lot of motor parts from them) and they have been great. they still love working on that motor. good luck and long live 2 strokes!

sad, but true, 250r parts are disappearing, the hype is these new 450's, so that is where the production and design is going toward. In another 10 years, 250r parts are going to about as hard as three wheeler parts are to get now. I have doubts that most people are even gonna know what a 250r is in 10 years!!!!!

its already hapeneing, i talked to a kid that had a yfz 450 and looked at my R like it was fgrom another planet and asked what it was...with all these parts going out it makes me wanna build a completely aftermarket R right now

Prices for the 250r are kinda low right now because of the 450's. Just hang on to your 250's and I bet you'll see their prices go way up in the future. The more rare the parts are to get, the more it will be worth later. It's like owning a clasic.

ESR is a bunch of awesome guys too. They even gave me tech support over the phone for half an hour with no problems or frustration. Ed Teixeira built my motor and also gave me some awesome tech support. He even called the owner of CT to get me some precise help and then called me back. Got that new 330r he built tuned perfect!!

i think its all true the one quad that kept quad racing alive was the trx 250r and now that its GENETIC CLONE the 450s has taken over, everone has forgotten about the R that struggled for all these years too make the future of quad racing and the companies that the trx 250R has made theme of what they are now,And all of a sudden they forget how they were born???

I find it sad, that 20 years later, honda still can't build a bike that will out-do a 250r. Get this, honda had to buy a leager 250r/350x engine frame in order to build the protype 400ex. They used a 350x motor and changed the xr400 motor to fit along the same lines. How sad is that, the company that make a racing legend, didn't have one to make a new quad from!!!! When they were done, their new bike, still didn't even complete to their 250r's, it took untill the trx450r to come out to make brakes that were as good as a 250r.

Whoever designed the 250R was a genius. If it was not for that bike there would be no race anything. The sport owes it alot.

Its a bunch of BULL that they are dropping 250R parts, WHY? there are still so many floating around and with the age of them alot of people are replacing and upgrading parts, just because they arent made anymore doesnt mean that no one owns one and wants new parts for it. Look at the banshee, everyone that rides knows at least one person that owns a shee, and they dont stay stock forever. Maybe its time for us guys to make a R specific company, like the classic cars have, I mean now adays you can build a 69 camaro pretty much from scratch using aftermarket parts...year one, goodmark, ect.

i think a company like that will rise out of no where, once someone realizes they can basically have all the market for aftermarket 250R parts and make a ton of cash, someone will do it!

i bought my 250r this summer and the person i bought it from had redone the motor at sparks a year or so before that. that pisses me off that they are stopping making parts for the 250r. its not like people arnt totally redoing Rs, im just glad i got my sparks stuff.
