Buy a 14 tooth front sprocket you will be happy with the low end response I promise.

Go one tooth down in the front and it will give you more bottom end torque.:D

yeah drop one tooth in the front it will make a big difference in take off and you will loose top speed but not crazy you will like it!

I actually did the opposite geared mine for top end, buddy of mine has his geared stock, don't ask me why but I can kill him all threw the gears and top end he doesn't have a hope, Put the biggest I could on the front and used a 38 tooth for the back, not sure what size the front is, but I can check if you want.Back 20" tires Razr. My 400 ex is stock except for a FMF slip-on pipe and I've never had another stock 400ex pull or go bye me yet.... trust me don't gear down, It's the combination of the gears that works, unless your on a track and need to be in a certain rpm...

Most 400ex's can't hit the rev limit at the top of 5th gear anyway. Dropping 1 tooth in the front wont reduce your top speed too much.

Drop 1 tooth in front. If it's too much add 1-2 in the rear. Generally 3 in the rear is about equal to 1 in the front.
