It's a quality kit for under a $1000. I've got a '91 Z71 and will be installing a 4" kit sometime after Christmas. Plus I like how the RC's kits are black instead of red and blue like Rancho & Fabtech.

Here is my truck with a 6" Fabtech lift on 17" rims and 35" tires.

i dont like fabtech because it is a knuckle lift....which means to get the full lift id have to crank my Tbars....its either a dick cepek or rough country....dick cepek requires no cranking of the tbars but if you do you can crank them up to get about 8 inches of lift with a 6 inch kit

If im not mistaken, Rough Country's 6" lift is just cranked t-bars and 2" blocks for the rear. And I THINK Superlift makes RC's lifts or vice versa and Superlift is a proven company.

IMO stay away from fab-tech and pro-comp unless your building a mall cruiser or mud bogger. There are way better suspensions out there that are less expensive.

Check out www.fullsizechevy.com and start reading the forums.

i have pro-comp on my truck and love it to death,i did a 6in lift, but with the three shock setup for the front tires, and i also did traction bars,my lift was some what expensive but i also added alot of accessories to go with the lift which added up,but if just do a plain 6 lift from pro-comp then it wont be that expensive,my father has a 2in leveling kit on his truck from RC and have had zero problems with it,was easy to go on,the directions where great, overall i think you be happy with the RCD if you just use the truck for normal use,if you plan on doing some offroading then you might want to look into pro-comp,super-lift,or fab-tech if thats the direction you want to go in

I had a procomp 6" lift on my tahoe and i wasn't happy with it. Even with the sway bar disconnected articulation sucked. The blocks and ES3000 shocks in the rear made it feel like I was driving a lifted fullsize go-cart. I wouldn't have minded having all the accessories you had though, they probably made a world of difference for your handling.

i'd like to know what kind of torsion bars can provide 6" of lift just by cranking them:eek2: the alignment would be rediculously out of whack:blah:

im pretty sure rough country aint just cranked tbars because it would throw the frontend so far out of wack that it wouldnt even be funny....i do not want a knuckle lift once again....a knuckle lift will widen the trackwidth of the truck...and its very noticeable once you lift them and your front tires are sticking out 2 inches more on each side....

i was told on CTW that dick cepek is the best ifs lift because its an actual drop that drops the whole frontend down and dont just drop the lower control arms and use longer knuckles

Go with the dick cepek.I had one on my 96 chevy and you could'nt beat it. The design and durability of it was top notch. When I braught it to get alligned..the owner of the shop said it was the best lift he has seen!!I never had a problem with it and I beat the piss out of it!!

Stay away from lifts that use blocks, axle wrap. I def love that I only need 4 leaf springs hah, but i'd go with a kit that has leafs for the back and the full front setup, its not gonna be cheap, but it will be worth it, stay away from t bar cranking as well, wacks allignment all up, and it will never be right. When it comes to suspension you don't wanna half *** it.

yea i know what your talking about....sometimes in life your able to take a cheapway or shortcut but with suspension on your vehicle i wouldnt want to take the cheapway.....i can get the dick cepeck lift for another like 300 dollars more then the rough country....the rough country is 975.00 and the dick cepek is 1,199

i had a skyjacker on my 98 ram and i loved it. it was a strong quality kit. its kind of expensive though. my 3in suspension was about $1000. but im just sayin to look around cause they have so many kits to chose from and bottom line i doubt you will be severly displeased with any of them
