Everybody I've talked to has like their HRC kit. I rode my friends before and after and there was a noticable difference. The Maxxis 4-Snows seem to be getting pretty popular.

I live in Wisconsin and do alot of ice racing and trail riding in the snow and any type of wedge shap tire works well sand tires work very well in deep snow but are bad if there is not enough snow for ice racing we use pro wedgies such as the maxxis 4-snow and they work great for snow till its gets 6 to 8 inches deep if your going to be on ice use a set of studded tires liek i do for ice racing or you can run Hoosie tires and put VDT on them which is a tire softner and also you can re-groove them with a tire groover and make them hook up better for a rubber class ( you can ride wheelies with rubber tires if you have hoosiers they hookup that good) hope this helps
