I'm also posting this in the dyno room...

I thought I would share these runs with you guys...

WPP Racing was kind enough to work me in for some dyno time today (Saturday) 11/18/06. Brian gave a broke arse college kid a good deal . As always, he has a great, and smooth operation going at his shop.

The dyno setup he has is working great. The exhaust gets pulled out, and he always has fresh air blowing right into the quad. Great looking, and light Dyno slicks on light rims. I couldn't have asked for more. If anyone is wondering, he definitely knows what the hell he is doing. I was IMPRESSED to say the least. My first dyno experience was great!

Once again, THANK YOU Mr. Brian .

So...

My setup is as follows:

05' TRX450R
- 13.1:1 Wiseco (94mm stock bore)
- Hot Cams Stage 2
- Ferrea Super Flow Intake Valves (stock size)
- Sparks Filter
- DASA Pipe
- Airbox Lid OFF

Stock crank, carb, springs, exhaust valves....etc etc etc....

Sunoco/CAM2 Purple 110 (R+M/2) Fuel
American Racer Dyno Slick Tires
14/38 Gearing
Pulls done in 4th Gear
Dynojet type DYNO

Jetting:
190 main
50 pilot
HRC Needle 3rd Clip

The jetting was just a HAIR on the fat side. It needs a 188 main jet, but neither myself, nor Brian had one of these currently in stock. I'd imagine we might have been able to get a little more out of her...

Best HP: 47.65 hp
Best TQ: 32.53 ft/lb tq

(please do no post until I have posted all 3 of my graphs)

Now the HMF vs. DASA pipe runs

THE HMF runs and the DASA Runs were done the EXACT SAME DAY!!!

Jetting for HMF:
178 main
48 Pilot
HRC Needle 3rd Clip

Jetting for DASA:
190 main
50 pilot
HRC Needle 3rd Clip

Best HMF HP: 46.59 hp
Best HMF TQ: 31.84 ft/lb tq

Best DASA HP: 47.65 hp
Best DASA TQ: 32.53 ft/lb tq

First graph is RPM, second graph is MPH.

Again, the DASA ran a little fat...might have been able to squeeze a little more out of her with a smaller main.

THANKS FOR LOOKING

MPH runs...DASA provides more bottom end, and better over rev than the HMF.

oh no, 47 is repectable power no doubt, but once you get on a dyno i understand what it does to the mind... ;)

besides, i'm sure the first thing that was talked about the day you dyno'd is how you can get more.....

Do you have A/F results? Just curious as both pipes used different jetting. How did you determine what jetting to use for each? Im assuming you had A/F measured, but just wondering if you went with manufacturers recommendations for jetting?

Yes.

A/F ratio runs were done first thing with EACH pipe. We got the jetting down...except we didn't have a 188 main so that we could lean out the DASA pipe a bit. This is why I stated that it was runnin a bit rich..around a 13.

After several A/F ratio runs, and jetting changes, we then did the Horsepower pulls.

I don't have the A/FR runs, as they didn't really concern me...I was there the entire time, and saw them as soon as they popped up on the screen :).
