I just got my 88 250R with 310cc kit on it. So far the motor runs great but I suspect a water leak or oil leak - maybe both.
Other than that, I have difficulty shifting into 3rd or 4th, sometimes 5th and 6th.
It downshifts just fine, but it wont go up into 3rd or 4th. Sometimes it will after waiting like a min or 2 in that gear at cruising speed then it'll finally go. Sometimes it'll just go right in no problem.
I also noticed that if I gun it then shift, it doesnt want to. But if I go easy then shift, it is more likely to shift.
Any of this sound familiar to you guys? What do you think my problem might be? I plan on pulling the motor out to replace the crankshaft collar and seal on clutch side, as well as the mechanical seal. I hope to find the problem with the shifter while in there.
