Here at xmas ill be ordering my tires wheels and such. You all that have the razr2 front/Holeshot HD rear setup, is it a good setup for rocky/loose/rutty stuff or should i just stick with my plan and do razr2 all around?

Im in the same boat as you. But I was thinking about a razor one back tire instead of the holeshot HD. My question would be why a HD instead of a Razor 2 since their simular to each other??

I personally think the original Razor is one of the best all around tires there is. It works well in a variety of conditions. Once you get into the Razor 2 or the ITP HD or GNCC your into a specific tire designed for specific conditions and while they are both good, they may not fit most trail riders budgets or over all needs.

The HD is suppost to have a softer compound for cleanout and bite on looser stuff.

I love the Razr 2 fronts. I have been running them for a year in xc races and they are awesome. I have ran Razr 1 and Irazr rears. They are both awesome, but the Irazr is a little better in mud. I have not ran the HD, but my bro has and liked the rears, but hated the fronts.

I have been running Razor 2 all the way around for the last 2 years and I will not run anything else!

I've ran razr2 front and HD rear and that is a great setup, I run HD rear and GNCC front now and love it just as much. My friend has the razr2 rears and I don't like them at all, they slide to much and just don't hook up as well as my HDs breaking and accelerating IMO

If your interested I have a complete setup of this - razr 2 fronts and HD rears that I have and never used - I just sold my XC quad and am switching to TT so no need for them...pm me if you would like them -

THe HD rears don't slide as well as the regular holeshots, razr or even the razr 2. They provide great traction. I like the razr 2 front with a razr or razr 2 rear depending on how wet the ground is.

Razr 2 front and Razr 1 rear seem to be a hot set-up.

I currently am running Razr 2's in the rear and they do awesome in loose/muddy conditions but they don't corner like the regular razrs.

Well 95% of the conditions I ride on is all on the same loops so its this: rocks, slick rocks, water, mud, tree roots, ruts, steep hills out of creek beds, and logs. So does that help any? I am still leaning toward the RazR2

any of them will work fine, its more about your riding style than anything else that will decide what tire you like the best. personaly, i think 20 inch holeshot xc's are the ebst tire ever made for all around riding, but again, that is just my opinion of what works the best on my quads

I run the ITP XCR's all the way around and love them!

I ride trails almost exclusively, and got ITP HD's all around.

I got zero compaints.

Front end doesn't push, and they clean out well enuf.

hd rears & gncc fronts. best setup i have found yet.

I dont know if I am too late to weigh in on this topic or not, but in my experience, both front razor 2s and front Holeshot GNCCs work great. However the Holeshot HD rear is a much tougher rear than the Razor 2 rear. If you ride in a lot of rocks and mud you cant beat the Holshot HD rears. They also last for ever and give you better side bite. The knobs are very tall and well spaced.

If you ride more in ideal conditions, then there is nothing wrong with the Razor 2 set up all around.

I have used everything out there and raced in all kinds of conditions.

Just my opinoin.

Thanks, I'll decided I'm going GNCC all around or GNCC front and HD back.

razr rears and razr 2 fronts. works awsome. there are alot of people who run this combo, just look at the pics from past gncc's.

How well do the razr 2's slide? i heard they have to much side bite and u cant slide them very well.

Yeah I was gonna go ITP all around but no. 2 of my buddys have 450R's one with RazR2 all around and 1 with GNCC's all around and they went to Windrock and when they come back 2 of the GNCC's had huge holes in the sidewalls and the one with the Razr2's went the same line with as him and he had no problems and his GNCC's wear really fast.:ermm:

the gnc's are a good tire but cause of the larger space between the knobs they are more prone to get slashed an punctured
