Yeah that seems pretty expensive, but it might be worth it. I'd check around and see what places has the best reputation first. Don't settle for the cheapest place, I did that last month on my first tattoo and it's horrible, so now I gotta pay again to have another tattoo shop fix it:ermm:

yeah, theres this thing going on now, $200, for as long as you can sit at 3 places in my area i might do that. BTW.. does the elbow hurt? I heard it does.

All i know is i have seen some terrible tattoos around these boards and on people i know.

Research the place first. If the place is a dump but cheaper don't even think about it. I would pay 200$ more on ANYTHING just knowing it was a better place alone. Think about how long you will have it. 200$ more is not a lot when you realize it will be with you forever.

I know a star is not complicated but I've seen simpler stuff get butchered before.

yes i agree, i would not pay over 50-60 bucks.

here are my tattoos as of now; until finished. any questions just ask, lol.

both the dragon, and the tribal tattoo on my arm are cover ups. on my left arm i had a jester and i got it covered with the dragon and tribal.

then on my right arm i had some tribal which i got covered with that big tribal. it is not done yet, more black is to be added, then blue behind it all for shading.

i have half sleeves on both arms and one on my leg and ribs and upper back the one on my leg is a cover up of a tattoo i got at 14 and the tat was horrible i got what i paid for it was 45$ and cost 450$ to get a super bada** cover up that hides the first tat.i also had my last name across my back by the same guy at 14 also and it came out allright had to pay again to have another artist fix it and make the letters larger and darker to make better.the artist i now got too has done all the rest of my tats and the cover ups and does some of the best work ive ever seen.well the point to this long reply is look around a tat is nothing to go cheap on its going to be on you many years after you pass on.i went cheap on the first two and had to pay twice for them not to mention had to get 4 tats to now have 2.i have 5 total and pay 150$ in hour.little pricey but its worth i good tat.the elbo is a hard place to tat and 300$ is better than a bad 200$.your elbos will be seen allot so find a good artist.

300 sounds like alot but as long as their good artists its worth it. nothing is worse then a crappy tattoo u would have to live with the rest of ur life.

I have 8 stars on my left arm and one is on my elbow. I have over 30 tattoos all together and my advice is this. You get what yo pay for. Look for the older guy that is sitting around. He has nothing to prove and more than likely is the more experienced artist. Ask to see some previous work and talk for a little bit. Get to know an artist before allowing them the opportunity to ink you for life.

yea i know that elbow will be kinda weird. But seriously how long do you think its going to take this guy to tatoo 2 HALF INCH stars?.

ofcourse dont go to some ghetto shop, but 300 dollars?!?!. I would hate to see the price of something on a decent piece

My buddy didn't want to pay the extra money to get a tattoo done by a reputable artist and now he regrets it .... his tattoo looks like chit and it was only done a little over a year ago . All the colors have faded , none of the lines are straight ( it looks like the guy had the shakes) ... all in all , it looks like crap !!!!

I paid somewhere around $250 - $300 for mine ( can't remember) , but I think it turned out pretty good .

This picture was taken about 2 hours after I had it done .

My girlfriend's cost her a little over $100 I think . Same artist did it and this picture was taken about 2 hours after it had been done also.

This is my first one, and i paid $220 for it, and took around 2 hours. My next one i drew up myself, will be around $500 and take around 5 hours. So i think that 200-300 is too much for what you are having done, IMO.

That pic was taken after i had washed it and put cream on it

That's what I figured... cause mine was just a cross, all black and straight as an arrow. Like an inch long. And seriously I could have gotten it straighter myself and all the black is already faded and it's only been a month:ermm:

im sure there just telling you high price because there sick and tired of doing gay tatoos or they dont wanna sit there and do a bunch of stars for a hour and half, im sure if you were working on a sleeve and it was a nice touch to it itd be a whole diff story, but just the fact you made this post says its prob your first tatoo...rethink it, get something else, getting a tattoo isnt like putting stickers on your truck, you cant peel them off when your like why the **** did i get that

I have quite a few tats and the way I see it, find a a seasoned artist you know does good work and don,t let 50or 100 bucks keep you from getting a good tatoo. After all it'll be on you for life. Don't shop where to get one by price. I learned this the hard way.

What's wrong with what he wants to get? It's not like he said he wanted some fairies on his back spreading fairy dust over some nice pretty flowers. If stars are done right they can look pretty good as tattoos.

As for price, that does sound like too much, my sister had a large tattoo done on her back and paid around $500 for it and it turned out very nicely.
