4 Stroke Challenge Race Series

We, along with Planet Sand, are pleased to announce the introduction of a new racing venue named 4 Stroke Challenge Series (4SCS). 4SCS was birthed from a group of avid hill racing enthusiasts with the goal of expanding 4 stroke racing events. Countless hours have gone into developing this racing series with recognized industry leaders, recognized racing leaders/champions, and supporting industry leaders.

The Challenge Series will include five races during the 2007 season. Race #1 of the series will be Four Stroke Wars VI during Martin Luther King weekend. Race #2 – Dumont Challenge will be held on the weekend of February 24, 2007. Race #3 – is in progress and will be announced in the next two to three weeks – reserve the weekend of Apirl 21st. Race #4 – Pismo Challenge will be held in June. Race #5 will be held during late summer/early fall location and dates will be available soon.

The 4SCS races are designed around the philosophy of establishing a level competitive racing venue. All of our races will be held at locations that allow us to run official sanctioned events that are organized, efficient, and fun.

Challenge series offers racers the ability to compete at a site specific race level as well as an overall champion level. The King of the Challenge will truly be recognized as the world’s champion demonstrating consistency winning over multiple races.

We are proud to be apart of the Planet Sand Drag Race Association and be supported by Planet Sand. Please look for updates and discussion topics on www.Planetsand.com under section 4 Stroke Challenge Series.

4 Stroke Challenge Series Awards System

The challenge series awards system will be comprised of 2 different award levels. At the individual race level, achievement will be recognized for the first and second place finishers in each race, along with a King of the event. The King of the Event award will be a final race of the top 2 finishers from each of the racing categories. Individual race payouts will be a function of participants in each race category. Specifics will be announced with each race detail announcement.

The second level of recognition will be for the series winners. Series winners will be recognized in all core classes. Points will be awarded on a graduated basis and accumulated. The lowest score will be dropped and largest combined score will designate the series winners. Details of awards and methodologies will follow soon.

And Race Number 1:
4 Stroke Challenge Race – Four Stroke Wars VI

We, along with Planet Sand and Mark Tozer, are pleased to announce the first race in the 4 Stroke Series 2007. Welcome to Four Stroke Wars VI. The race formats and classes leverage the efforts and build on the previous Four Stroke War events.

Due to the registration process at the Imperial Sand Dunes it is not possible to run an event for January 2007. The 2007 MLK 4 Stroke Wars race will be held this year at Dumont Dunes. As we prepare to run the first ever Official 4 Stroke Wars race, the opening race of the 4 Stroke Challenge series, we are optimistic and actively working to secure 2008 back at the home track that built the 4 Stroke Wars heritage in Glamis. We have secured the insurance binder for 2008 and filed for the 180 day waiting period to secure a use permit.

We are proud to be apart of the Planet Sand Drag Race Association and be supported by Planet Sand. Please look for updates and discussion topics on www.Planetsand.com under section 4 Stroke Challenge Series.
