This 250 I picked up is supposed to have a 310 kit. I noticed that it has FMF on the side of the jug, and a small spacer (5mm maybe) between it and the cases. It has a FMF Fatty pipe as well, but I can not find any information on this jug anywhere on the internet. Does anyone have any info on this set up?

i know that FMF did porting on a lot of 250R jugs, so its probably ported by them, good luck!

From what I know, they were mostly done by Terry Varner, who was a previous FMF person, now runs his own performance shop. I don't believe FMF does their own porting as they typically send it out to someone else. Without looking at my notes it should have a 3 or 4mm spacer and use the yz 250 piston. Doesn't mean you have to exactly use that set up (unless the bore is too large), but all of them I've seen, should have a stock head cut to go with it.

So will they engrave FMF in the side of a stock head to show that the work was done? The guy said it was a 310 set up with a sleeve. Apparently this bike has been modified in such a way that it will be difficult to estimate future repairs with out tearing it down completely. Also, I guess I am just trying to figure out what I have here.

The heads had no markings. It should run fairly good with the head with the head if you have it.

I know there is one spot, maybe 2, that have FMF engraved in the case. I will try to get a picture.
