I remember seeing someone had a oil temp gauge built into a oil dipstick. And I can't find one anywhere. Would anyone know where to get one and if there's any other options. Thanks Nick

Here's a photo of mine. My 400ex typically runs between 175 and 225 once it's warmed up.

I just bought one of these gauges and im qurious, is 175-225 normal operating temp, and also what temp would be considered overheating?

I was thinkin of using it as just another aid to see if my jetting is correct, lean=running hot so under normal load it would be running warm. Would there be any real noticable difference in temp if its runnin rich. Thanks for any insight.

It really depends on the ambient temperature where you ride. Mine is normally between 175 to 225 degrees. In the summer when it was near a 100 degrees outside, it ran between 225 and 275. If it's sitting motionless than it will be hotter because the air flow isn't present to cool it off. I have read that oil starts to break down at 300 degrees. If you see it that high you better shut it down.
Just a side note...I have air scoops. I saw a drop in my oil temperature once I installed them. If you're worried about overheating than you might want to look into getting a pair.

Does it still function as a dipstick? I mean, does it show oil level very accurately?

It has a painted mark on it to show the full level. It not flat like the stock dip stick so it's is hard to see with clean oil. I keep my stock dip stick in the quad's tool container to check the level when needed.

It's a great thing to have. The gauge is adjustable. I tweaked it so the 200 degree mark was straight up for quick reference when I'm riding.
They come in different colors. I got the red one. :D
