i've run klotz in all my 2 strokes for years. it's a very good oil and it smells good to boot lol. if your running anything other than pump gas i would reccomend the kl-100 versus the r-50. its formulated for any type race fuel, including methonol<sp

Maxima Castor 927 32.1 250R and LT500R
Yamalube 2R 32.1 Banshee

Klotz didn't burn off very good and Amsoil senthetic seemed like it wasn't keeping the motor cool enough.

Ive used 2R and Klots super tech in my banshee with no problems both mixed at 32:1, I have also used some other things in a pinch (lawn mower premix and lucas premix) and they both seemed to gum things up and foul my plugs. I plan on sticking with my Klotz super tech for the R once its done but may use another type of Klotz. Also not sure what ratio yet.

pick a oil type and ratio, then jet accordingly. :D

i know the place! i grew up in Kosciusko, about an hour North of Jackson. we used to hang out at The Dock, and Shuckers all the time. The Forum was just a bit too preppy for me.

where do you ride? we used to put in on the river close to downtown jackson @ silas brown bridge, but they've changed all of that with guard rails and such that you can't get down there. i put in once on 80 at the scrap place, but the owner came out and told us not to come back. :ermm: they used to let people run quads on practice days at pearl, but they shut that down. i've run down at Fernwood a couple of times. that's a cool track. i hear kevin windham has a kick *** place down around columbia somewhere, but i've never been there.

yea!!! i rode at silas brown religously when i first got my quad, up until they shut it down. we mainly ride old cut overs, the CREEKS  and sand pits. we from time to time even go to the 300' dirt drag strips in la and in montecello<sp now that i have me a few acres we ride at my house some.

you ride mx? there is a plush mx practice/race track across the woods on an adacent road from where i live. i love to listen to them while working on atv's in my shop. :D

amsoil is the best. i run it at 50:1 i ran a 265 in glamis for 9 1/2 days straight 8 hours a day, WOT on 109 octane and it blew halfway through the last day.. 80+ hours on a top end at wot is very commendable..

amsoil all the way

I used to use klotz r50 in my bikes, but clogged powervalves made me switch to klotz synthetic snowmobile oil. I am notice the bike smokes less with it. A friend of mine needed gas for his bike, I gave him my jug, 114 leaded race gas w/ 32:1 klotz snowmobile oil, he said his bike smoked for the first few minutes, then cleaned up and it runs better than ever now. He switched to the snowmobile oil.

educate me. i know nothing about sno-mo's. are they oil injected or what? or are the premix ya fuel -n- gas and fuel injected?

I don't know for sure, but I do know that snowmobiles have powervalves stock. My goal was a good oil that won't clog my powervalve and reduced smoking. It seamed to do the trick.

I got out of mx a few years back when i messed up my shoulder. i came to realize that i don't bounce as high as i used to. i was wanting to set my R up for some TT racing, but i haven't been able to find anything close to Nashville, so now i'm thinking about getting into the XC series. i can't decide between the 400 and the R. the 400 would probably need less work to make it competative since i'd have to have all new A-arms/shocks for the 250.

I run Klotz SuperTechniplate at 40:1. I haven't owned the machines long enough to see how well that works out. I used to run AMS at 50:1 but I favor the smell of Klotz :D

I ride mostly trails and I hit it WOT a lot.

I use royal purple mixed at 36:1 and can't complain...never foul plugs and doesn't smoke bad.

Well it looks to me like theres alot of good oils out there you guys and gals are running, so its pretty much personal prefernce. I wouldnt suggest a straight castor oil as they are known to gum up top ends, but 927 does smell yummy.

i ran a bunch of different oils in my blaster. when you talk about oils, and have amsoil in the mix, there is only need to mention two others. motul and redline. those 3 oils or head and shoulders above all the others IMO

I have always used Golden Spectro two stroke oil in my mx bike and 250R. I have had no problems with the oil at all.

I have also tried once or twice the PJ1 two stroke oil and it was good also.

I just decided to stay with golden spectro. Its been the best for me.

The honda I mix five gallons of gas to one of the little bottles or sometimes either three or four gallons of gas to one of the bottles.
