I just tried to buy one but everybody is out of stock and they are back ordered from Edelbrock. In retrospect I would suggest the FCR 39 or 41 if you have alot of mods. More expensive and harder to set up but head and shoulders above the rest. Look for carb post and you will see most agree. Buy it from sparks racing and they even jet it for you $450

I like mine. I got it with the twist throttle. It made starting in cold weather a snap. I can't judge the power because I had the 440 done at the same time.

Do a search for carbs, because I remember reading the other day that someone was getting a carb for like 330. I swear it was the FCR, but I could be wrong.

I would def. agree with the FCR, but really in all reality unless u ahve some monstrous engine kit, stick with the 39mm. The 41 isnt necessary. But power wise, its an insane power gain. Prob. about as much as when i put the cam and high comp. piston. BIG DIFFERANCE!!

I am currently selling a quicksilver on ebay for my friend. He used to have it on his xr400. It is suppose to work for the 400ex. I have one on my 400ex and I think it gives it a lot more top end. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for the replies guys, i appreciate it. I will look in to Fcr carbs or wat ever. I currently have a pipe, filter , jet coated, and timing key done to my 400ex, many other mods but not for engine performance. I will prolly most likely get a cam, and hoping to bore it to a 440. That was one of my other questions, i ride with my dad(z400, his friend(raptor and couple other people(banshee, and 250r) but i want to keeep up with them. I would like some feed back on the 440 kit if any of you have it done, do you keep up with them , beat them and wat is performance like with the 440. How much are you guys paying for your carbs, which one would be better for the 440 kit?? thanx alot guys for the replies

Try talking to Tom at TC racing......i have his 425 national kit, and that thing keeps up with 440s, **** honestly i can pull on Rs. And thats not an exageration. Its cheaper than a 440, and more reliable. And in my honest opinion i dont think the 440s are thatgreat....guess it just depends on what company does it?? www.tcracingengines.com
