dirt bike or quad

I would like to get my son a small quad or dirt bike he is 3 right now a tall 3 yr old. I dont really care what year old preferably that way cheaper, maybe even a little work to do to it. We have a atv shop so parts arent a problem. let me know what you guys have. I dont want to spend much, because the way he is growing, it won't last long.
even maybe a bigger bike that him and I can work on together he loves working on quads with me. you know that he grow up a bit and ride.

Where are you located? I have a 1980 yzg 50 that needs a top end work(ring got hung up) This bike is complete but will need some work. Its been sitting in the shed for years. Yamaha only made this one for one year. I have checked and the parts are still available. I will take 300.00 for it if your interested. I’m in Ma. If you want pics let me know
