I have a 99 400ex, i just bought it, it started right up last night, then when i went to start it today it wouldnt turn....the guy i got it from said i had to jump it by touching the two terminals on the solenoid...the lights work fine, and the solenoid just makes a weird vibrating noise when i hit the starter button...it wont even turn at all when the lights are on though....can i just replace the solenoid and it should work? i do get a spark when i touch the terminals though so idk? any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks

The wierd vibrating noise you are hearing the starter solenoid cycling on and off. This happens when the battery is too low to turn the starter motor. Try using some jumper cables to start the quad. You'll probably find that the battery is in fact dead. Put it on a charger and if it still doesn't work, replace it and follow the instructions for the new battery.

make sure your negative wire on the battery is properly grounded
