debit card problem?

I seem to have a problem with my debit card ive only used to on atm machines but im trying to order parts from rockymountain and a few other places and they cant get the card to go through i have no idea why the money is there, do u have to have it step up to work like that to order stuff on the net?:confused:

Some banks put limits on the amount you can use at once. Are you exceeding that amount? You may need to talk to your bank and find out and get it raised if need be.

yep. It's also to protect you if it were to fall in wrong hands. If you had $20k in your account they could take every penny out and you'd be SOL

well i have around 3g in there and i really wanna get these parts orderd i tried limiting the order to 160 and still wont go through

It would be pretty lame for your bank to watch your back huh? I would contact your bank and see what they have to say.

Sometimes if the card is turned down a few times your bank will automatically freeze it until they contact you.

well i think im going to go up and see what the deal is but the big 2700$ check i put in was from selling my sled i wonder if they are just holding it to see if it clears through?

if it works at atms but not anywhere else then you may just have an atm card.

I never knew you could use a debit card to order parts . I thought only credit cards were accepted . :confused:

I know if I tried to punch my debit card number into a machine , it wouldn't do a damn thing.

Common snese, but when using a debit card, it has to have the Visa or Mastercard etc. logo on it to be used like a credit card.....

i put 5 checks in the bank before and it took about a week to clear. ur 2700 probaly wont clear in a day, check ur balance it will take about a week i bet

Yep unless your debit card says visa, mastercard, etc its just an atm card

my card is a mastercard, and i balanced it on the atm machine last night and it on but already but who knows maybe it will take longer to actually go through the whole system
