Thanks for the find....But I think I want a all aluminum one. Don't really trust plastic.

I was thinking of buying it just cuz it says this

"Get the finger throttle, bar, AND grips shipped for one LOW PRICE OF 6.50
"

But there is no were to buy it that low

Yes I was the one that posted it. You do not want the plastic kind. I got mine from my local dealer.

Finger Throttle KVPI & UMI (http://www.wppracing.com/steering_control.htm)
UMI (http://umiracing.com/jsps/sku.jsp?value=KA-01520-CLR&category=watercraft)

How do you go about using the throttle and the front brakes at the same time?

In some way or another would it be possible to run the finger and a regular throttle?, becuase sometimes my thumb gets so sore i cant push any more but i can still use my fingers.

I am guessing not. But they do make thumb and twist thorttle on the same perch

Here is how I use mine:

Wide open - I use index and middle finget and put it to the bars.

Jumping - just my index finger or both . Then you can hold on with all others

Coming in to a corner fast keep index figner on throttle and use what ever other fingers for breaking.

Tight woods & rough stuff - Middle finger only using index for throttle stop

It is not as hard as you think. Just takes a little getting use to.

just wondering what would the advantages be to using this

I'm guessing it's purpose is to help the people that have "thumb pump" problems?

Not trying to sound like an a$shole or anything....but the same thing goes for using a thumb throttle.....

Thumb Problems, Arm Pump, and most important you can hold on a lot better!

IM sent.

Finger throttle looks cool.

How did you rig up the throttle cable?

Did the stocke cable mate fight up to the finger throttle, or did you have to get a different cable?

I had made one for my 250R back in the day.

I set it up such that the finger throttle was pointing down almost to the ground (to get it out of the way of the brake lever range of pull)

Then I'd keep my index finger on the throttle, and my sign language finger on the brake lever.

It gets the thumb back onto the grip (where you want it) and the combination of that and your last two fingers is better than the rest of the fingers without the thumb.

Dont bust on it till your try one! 100% better than a thumb throttle!
And I do run the GNCC and 6 Hours of ATV America Ironman, so fatigue is a problem.

Swain -

I got a 400EX and am trying to figger out if this will work.

The throtte cable has a larger thread than the clutch cable. DId it thread right in?

Were adapters necessary?

Which one did you use KVPI or UMI?

Was teh cable length right? Or did you have to adapt the cable?

The cable on my 450 threaded right in no problem. I am not sure if the 400 is the same, but I think it would be. I even have a +2 stem and it still has plenty of slack. I use the KVPI. I dont like the finger part on the UMI.

Very damn cool. For someone like me who has serious issues with carpel tunnel, this could be a great benefit!

Just got the pins out of my left hand and had carpel tunnel done when the operated on the break and I go in Monday for the right hand carpel tunnel. So I am going to need all the help I can get early next year just trying to hold on!

I Just am ordering one this week. (shop was closedlast week)

The reason I want one is cuz I race XC and I dislocated my thumb a while back and my thumb goes numb was before I get arm pump. Sounds weird but I have done every fricken exercise known to man to fix my thumb, And I am not about to pay for surgery for a dang thumb that still works.

Have you had trouble with mud getting into the throttle causing it to stick?? I installed one on a 700 v force and he had it stick open.

No I havent had that problem. I spray it with WD40 and I run the MSR big mud guards over my CYCRA Handguards.
