Ive never been myself but I have friends who have. When I was thinking of going, they reccomended to me extra spark plugs, a recharge kit (cleaning kit) for your filter if it is cleanable and some jets. As far as tires go, get a set of paddles for the rear and you should have a blast. You wont be running the dunes like some but you will have lots of fun.

My first trip to Glamis (I know its not little sahara but same ballpark) I didn't run paddles on my dirtbike or my 400ex.

Expect to get stuck a few times, just pull yourself out and go. I climbed anything the raptor (on paddles) and the CRF450 (on a paddle) would climb. You just might need a running start on a few hills, no biggie.

Either way, you will have a blast. My friends were saying I wouldnt be able to keep up either but I did.

Plus, who rides a 110hp banshee all day? They are going to stick to one hill probably and drag race. not fun in my books, hitting bowls 5th gear pinned is fun to me :)

Get a smaller front sprocket, because you probably won't be riding on your rev limiter, get a set of paddles, if you don't have a pair or can't get one just air down your tires. Just to tell you I had a friend who thought on the other side of the dune it was flat, well he found out the hard way that the dunes peak. Have fun i wish i could go down there!!
