I'm currently gusseting my frame up and my stock 400ex arms are coming in soon, so I figured I'd go ahead and fab up a shock relocator for some 400ex shocks. So how far up and how far out do I need to make the mount hole, from the 300ex shock bolt hole to the hole in the relocator? Thanks.

go on ebay and talk to the company that makes the red relocator brackets. i cant remember the name but they will send you the deminsions for 5 bucks. a better idea instead of using brackets is to get a set of 86 250r a arms. you dont need brackets to run the 400, 250r, or 450r fronts. get the 86 model a arms though because all other years dont have replacable lower ball joints. go buy some heims joints for lower ball joints and it will allow for the correct amount of suspension travel. trust me on this, you will love that front end set up and its a complete bolt on install. use 250r of 450r tie rods. also with the heims joints you can adjust front camber.

I just ordered some 400ex arms and spindles so it's too late for that. As for the relocator the one I'm going to make is the one that's welded, not bolted together. So I don't really need the complete dimension, just how much space (vertically and horizontally) there needs to be between the stock bolt hole and the hole for the 400ex shocks.

Like this one, except beefed up a bit more.

I don't know if you heard of this idea, or did it yourself, but that is a bad idea all together. There is hardly any difference between a 250r a arm, and a 400ex a arm. Also if you run the shock without a relocator it is going to sit very high and put the ball joints in a bind all the time causing them to break.
