i have 2002, stock front sprocket on it is 14t. yes i was amazed.. all the books and mags say its a 15, but nope. its a 14 tooth sproket.

first i counted the teeth... (my bike had so much low end and not enuff top end, i wanted to do somthing about it..) count was 14, ordered a 15t.. took the stock off, it said right on there, 14... THEN i had to do a little bit of grinding on the chain guard assemble, not that the sprocket didnt fit, the chain just rubbed a little bit..

BUT, now that i have put the 15, my bike boggs a little bit shifting from 3 to 4. im running 11:1 piston, piped and jetted, with a stage 1 hot cam, it seems to have crazy power untill i get to that shift point, (also a rev limiter) so this week ill be swithing back to the 14t for a weekend at the dunes..

Sounds like a COMPLETE list of mods and aftermarket parts are in order...

on the chainguard assemble, there are two screws, take off the two screws, there is the main chain guard (the part that you see when its fully assmebled) behind that guard ther is a half moon shaped plate, that sits around the outter diamater of the chain (not on top of the chain/sprocket) this plate has has two holes in it that line up with the holes on the outter guard.. on that inner plate i had to grind out the inner "moonshaped" area a little bit, not that it wouldnt fit, it just rubbed on the chain and made a little noise..
