Ok boys im fixing to buy a 416 kit tommarrow so I need the help quick.

Im look at going with a JE 12.5:1 piston

Questions about this:
A) Which cam should I run, Im leaning towards the Sparks for $375 since its a drop in...
B) I know ill need to run 108 octane. Problem is nowhere around here sales it so I would have to use Klotz Octane booster. Would this be ok or do I really need the premade race gas?

The only bad thing about Octane booster is it ads alot more unnecesary heat into your engine, more then the 108 octane gas. Which as you prob. know, excessive heat isnt a good thing.

well I guess I will have to get race gas shipped to me then...

Sounds like a great setup,,but I wouldn't trust the octane booster with that high compression piston..why do you wanna go so high in compression??

Unless you are planning on going out there and trying to be competetive at the big races, it isnt really worth it to run race gas, its def. not cheap. I run race gas in mine i also run the GNCC series, and i kidna wish i didnt get the real high compressio npiston in mine, its real expensive. I have the 4 gal. tank and to fill it up im lookin at 20 bucks. so its def. not cheap! I mean its your call, just trying to shed your light on how expensive it can be to run race gas.

the money wouldnt really be the problem.

Extreme do you feel the high comp. gave you more power?

It does make a noticeable differance as far as when u have to fan the clutch or when the engine bogs, it def. can pull itself out of corners alot harder. But other than that...........thats about it. I dont know if it was worth it, casue ive had crap luck at the nationals this year. Flats and soforth.

So which would be more practial 10.8 11.1 since 12.5 doesnt look to be the right one...

If i cant go pump gas Id be happy, but I also want to know im getting my moneys worth out of this (horsepower/real power) wise.

Having a real high compression piston also throws reliability out the door,,,having a fast quad is one thing,,having a broken down quad all the time stinks.

With that Sparks Cam you better get Valve Springs. Talk to X-Rider about that.

Yeah cause i know from personal experiance, u dont have to get anything else with the TC cam. Ive been running it all year and no problems. The thing u MIGHT want to get is say a 3 angle valve job to seal it off better, but thats about it!
