do the hmf sport series colors fade after a while?

Anything will fade if you leave it in the sun long enough. It will not fade from heat however.

I had a small section of mine melt but that was compleletly my fault. I was riding in a hwy construction area after it rained and about 30lbs of clay attached itself to my quad, causing the rear fender droop down onto the pipe (with all of its clay) and insulated the pipe. This caused a very small spot of the top of my pipe to become more of a matte finish; however, it is not even noticeable unless you have the rear fenders off. My fault, though.

thanks every1, i just bought a brushed aluminum pipe so i wouldnt have to wory about the color fading.

i have heard of two people who had one that faded and they both had them replaced for free. it would be worth calling HMF about.

the brushed aluminum will not really fade, but will eventually start to oxidize and give it a white tint. But some mild polish will bring it right back to looking new again. Just be careful and do not spray any harsh cleaners like ( purple power and simple green ) directly on the pipe, they will increase the oxidization
