older 400ex motor made to fit newer 400ex

Can anyone tell exactly what I need to get to convert my 99 400ex to a newer reverse model? Is there anywhere else other than ebay to get a 05 and up motor or bottom end parts at resonable prices? If I had the means I would trade but the 99 is payed for and it still looks new. If anyone can give some intell here I would be grateful

just go to motoma.com and compare engine part number from the 99 to the 05-06 and that should at least let you know what might not work

you need the entire bottom end. cases and all are different. might be able to just pick up a complete 05 motor for a reasonable price on ebay.
