My friend and I went to check out a truck today that he may be buying. The truck is a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500. This truck has the 8 cylinder 6.0L engine with the sequential port fuel injection. To be exact, the truck has 126,529 miles on it.

He is going to go back tomorrow and test drive the truck. He has never owned a Chevrolet or GMC vehicle, and he doesn't know much about them, nor do I. Basically, I'm just asking of people who own or have owned this type of truck, to please just give me some details on what you think of them, what you like or do not like about them, and just any information in general concerning this kind of truck. I'm trying to help my friend out, so if I can get any help, I would greatly appreciate it!

Here is a picture taken of the truck:

Thank you.

That's probably a 1500HD, which were available in crew cab only with 8 lug wheels and the 6.0 liter. I don't think Chevy or GMC offers this anymore, it was only a two or three year option.

my dad has a 2005 2500hd crew cab. its a good truck but one thing that sucks about it is the turning radius because its so long.

It does seem to have A LOT of miles for the year of the truck. I decided to ask people on here what they think about these trucks because that is one thing my friend was worried about are the high amount of miles on it...

those trucks look so sick with a lift on it and some nice wheels and tires.

yeah that is alot of miles...you also have to think about other things that might start going wrong with that much use on the truck. if the price is low enough it might be a good buy, but if the price is comparable to that of trucks with less miles, i would just play it safe and buy another one. but a price would help us tell you if its worth it.

I agree. I do believe my friend told me the dealer is asking $14,950 for the truck.

its a damn fine truck. We have an 04 Chevy 1500HD with the 6.0 motor. We've put about 98,000 on it and not one problem yet...

My dad's 04 has 130k on it, no problems.

the one advantage to buying a high miles late modelis that they almost have to be highway miles
