how do i loosen brake calipilar?

there are 2 bolts on the frame side of the caliper...they should be a 12 mm head. take them out and it will swing up out of your way...

I just picked up this 400ex which was in poor shape. One of the last things to fix is the rear brakes. THe bike came with no brake pads and I am unsure if the piston is working or not. I bled the rear caliper to see if the brake piston would move and it didn't, I guess it needs the pressure of the pads in order to work.:confused:

Any ideas before I go and buy pads.....which I will be doing anyway.

get the pads and if it don't work, the caliper will need rebuilt
