ok i have a choice to keep my quad and put 8000 dollars into it, having to pay, or i can trade it in to the dealer and get a dirtbike, either an RM250 or CRF450.... i dont know what to do, i love quads more but dirtbikes are funner, and i want to get into freestyle with whatever i choose to keep.... what do u guys think, quad or bike

id go with the dirtbike... i like riding bikes a lot more than i do quads. anytime i go to a track to just practice, i end up on my friends crf450 and he ends up on my quad.

it depends how serious you want to do freestyle.i'd go with the 2 stroke if your gonna do freestyle.if you love both quads and bikes enough put yourself in the position to own both of them.its hard work but i had to do it so can you:)

Now someone's thinking logical. ;) Why not have both?

And why a 450? I would think a CR250F would be optimal? Plenty of all around power, and much more agile.

how about you keep the quad and buy my barly ridden CR 250 for a bike?(they havnt changed at all in the last 5 years) and youll still have more then 5 grand to spend to mod both...PM me if interested

I know seriously he could buy a brand new bike and still have to modding money. He could buy a bike a few years old and have alot of modding money still.

o and about the bike thing, does a 2stroke have a chance against 4strokes on a track? cause ill still be racing it, but ill be more into freestyle. i do see 4strokes whipping around pretty good but i dont really know how big of a difference 2 and 4 strokes are for handling and for tricks... if they're not a big dif ill just go with the 4stroker

if it was up to me, id keep the quad, thow a few mods on it, how is it a piece of crap, if you have 8 gs lying around? anyways, if your into fresstyle, you dont want a thumper, get a 2 stroker, there alot easier to through around.....honestly id get a cr125 for freestyle

im into quads, so quads has my vote, but this is all matter of preference

id have to take out a loan for the 8 grand, which i dont really want to do. and i could go on for hours about all the problems ive had with my quad... its a major lemon, ive barely been able to ride it since i got it last year, it breaks down every few weeks... and the dealer fixes everything cause its on warranty.

That is the worst way to start off your life! What is the return on the loan that you would be taking out? You loose almost everything on the parts that you buy, plus you have to pay intrest. Save up for college. If you aren't going to college save up for a house.

My parents would smother me with a pillow if I even asked to do what you are talking about.

keep in mind it wouldnt be my loan... it'd be more of a loan to my parents.... its not like a real loan loan... but i dont have any of my stock parts..... everything thats aftermarket on my quad is pretty much replacement for alll the stuff thats broke on it.

if you go with a bike go with a 250 2 stroke.when you race bikes at an ametaur level it's alot more rider than the bike, and of course for freestyle you want the 2 stroke no question.

Hey,
I would defianatly go with the dirt bike, but instead of a suzuki or honda, I would go with a KTM. Ktm are the powerhouse of the dirtbike world. The '07s are most defiantly the most fun and smooth riding bikes ever made. Take it from me, Mike Alessi.
