Hey guys.. I guess although this is a honda, its not an EX .. so this would be the correct forum.. I've got a 2000 Honda Rancher 4x4.. and theres a distinct clicking sound when turned hard left.. Anyone know what this is? It sort of sounds like the tire hitting plastic but there are no signs of abrasion and it doesnt look like the wheel could even touch the fender wells in any way.. but if anyone knows please throw in your 2 cents.. shaft gear problems??....hope not.

Have you checked the bearings? mine did that for a day or two and stopped. All I had was dirt stuck somewhere in the bearing and it jarred itself loose.

I too had a Rancher and while it sounds like it is probably a bearing problem, you should check out Highlifter.com where the super Honda 4x4 geeks hang out. Like our (Exriders') 4x4 counterparts. :D

Cheap my butt. A inner and outer wheel bearing and seal is about 60 bucks. Oh well I guess that is alot to me.

yeh take off the wheel and look at the cv-joints and see the bearing and the gears on t?e joint sometimes they can lose tetth and ou only notice it when u tuen and strain the 4x4 componets also check ur bearings asap cause that ususally means somethˆng is in htere and it can travel like a diease i know it happned on my neighbors 300 4x4 ALL IT WAS A

My dads rancher does the same thing, so does my friends and so does my sisters boyfriends. I really dont know what causes the noise but I dont think it is any thing to worry about.
