I got a Burguard Chrome Steering Stem for my 450, mounted right up. Mine came with a new stem bushing. I noticed the tubing used on the burguard stem is a smaller diamater then the oem 450r stem.

Any ways a couple days later my PEP Steering Stablizer came in. I mounted up one end, then I went to mount the clamp on the stem and the clamp does not fit on the burgard stem. It fits perfect on the oem stem however. I ended up using a peice of radiator hose in between the stem and clamp, and a longer set screw. I had a race the next weekend and had to have it ready in time.

Has anybody ran into this problem? I'm thinking I may have gotten a 400EX stem?

Different companies make different diameter stems. I would call PEP and let them know you have a Burgard stem. They should know the diameter and be able to get you the right size mount.

You will need a 400ex mount for the PEP dampner when using a Burgard stem

yeahh i had the same problem.
i wound u makin a metal sleeve. Owell it works
Burgard ****ed us. there to lazy or sumtin to make the right stem. so this is there quick fix. nd also watch out wen the wheels arnt on the ground because the 400ex has a longer flag(tie rod ends connect to) it brings the wheels closer and rubs the top A-arms. TOp quality stuff a
