there reasons why quads arnt made with twist.. I rode my friends SPader bike and its not bad with the suspension and prc damper but when i rode a yfz stock with one ever bump i hit made it wanna twist... also ive seen some reckless kid at about every d-6 race crash on the littlest things and i never realized it but he has twist.

THumb all the way

agreed, i use to have one on my 450r, but it was a *****, so i took it off and now use a thumb. If you ride enough then you wont get cramped up in ur thumb

Twist..

People need to learn you dont have to have death grip when you ride a twist.. it gives twist a bad name when people dont use them right and tell people never to get them etc.. I dont see how having your thumb out and having 4 fingers holding onto the bars is better the holding on with your thumb and actually grasping the handle bars..

Thumb because I am one of them ppl that hang on for dear life when Chit gets crazy! With a twist I just give it more gas. thumb ussually I let go.

i totally agree with josh. i had a twist on my ex and loved it, when i finally realized not to hold so tight. the 450r is gettin a vortex twist soon.

i like both thumb and twist

i can use both fine from being back and fourth from bikes to quads growing up but i like twist alot better...with thumb through really rough sections sometimes my thumb would slip off of the throttle where with twist its not slipping off and i think u can pin it alot faster with twist

Another reason I like thumb is I race XC and when I had a twist throttle it would get mud in the twist part and when my hands would get muddy it was hard to twist.

It takes som getting use to, just like a twist. I use KVPI and there is also UMI. Thare are mainly for jetskis, but will work on most ATVs too. I had one on my Predator and now run one on my TRX450.

I personally like thumb but I never had any problems with a twist.

twist. i've never really ridden with a thumb... i learned to ride on my boyfriends bansee that has a twist... so when I got my 300, that was the first thing I changed. I tried the thumb throttle for a few rides (while I was waiting for the twist to come) and I hated it. I prolly would have gotten used to it after a while, but I really like the twist.. it was easier since it was what I was used to.

It has caused some problems though... only when I let people ride it who have never used a twist before though. They just usuaully end up going over backwards..

How do you use your front brakes with that thing?

Index finger on the throttle, bird finger on the brake.

I know I asked this before, but I forget the answer....

The throttle cable is a larger diameter thread that goes into the throttle mechanism (larger than the clutch cable)

Does the throttle cable thread right into the KVPI?

Twist throttle. The only downside to it for me is...If you land a jump wrong, and you slide to the back of your seat...You have to ride it out while you're gunning it.

Once you get fully used to it youll never do that. I have had a twist on my 400 for 2 years now and i can ride it with absolute no problems

i have a twist throttle..i don't like the thumb throttle cause it kills my thumb after a while....also i find it easier to control my speed with a twist throttle
