Very sweet!

I am thinking about doing a complete and thorough How-To on valve adjustment with pictures and all. This would be specific to the TRX450R Quad, and not the CRF450R, even though they are extremely similar.

Anyone be interested in something like that?

Good to know there is some interest.

It probably won't be for another month or so.

I just adjusted my valves last week, and I will wait until my next valve adjustment before I do the "how-to." Too much to do, too little time....

You know I would be interested or else I would not be surfing the net trying to find a how to. :o

If you decide to attempt it before I am able to do my writeup, let me know if you have any questions during the process. I'll try to help the best I can :).

Glad to see there is plenty of interest! Maybe I'll try and make this next valve adjustment a little sooner so that I can start on the writeup even earlier.

I'd also be interested in seeing a writeup on adjusting the valves.I hate paying a dealer for something that i'm pretty sure i can do myself.Any article or pics you give us would be greatly apreciated.

byrdman watch the video at hotcams... but its with feeler gauges.... on one side in between rocker and shim and on other between cam and bucket.(intake)

for a 06, a all stock one... the 100 hour check can be accurate depending on how you ride and the the type of maintenance you do... especially a a clean ai filter... once a hrc kit is installed and exhaust system and no lid and so on will require more of a check up on the valves... you dont want the valves to cup, thats what happens when u dont adjsut themm..... checking and adjsuting are two different things,,, u can check your valves at 100 hours with a feeler gauge takes about 2 minutes all together, and they can be in spec.... !!

when valves cup from a long time of no adjsutment it can send u back some $$ but not alot than again.... new valves depending on the ones that are cupped, new seals while ur in there, cut seats, or new head, head gasket... a bit over somewhere close to 200 bucks with fresh cut seats.

Sorry it took so long...

But an update...

This past weekend, I put a Hot Cams Stage 3 in my 450R, and a Hot Cams Stage 2 in my Dad's 450R....so I did a couple valve adjustments...and took the rest of the pictures.

I started the write-up tonight, and am about 1/4 the way finished with it.

The hard part will be finding internet space for all the pictures...as this is going to be a very detailed and thorough write-up.

Again, sorry it has taken soo long...BUSY BUSY!

Its 1:15am .... I'm going to bed :scary:

I own a few domains with extra space, I'd be glad to host to entire write-up.
Videos, whatever.

Let me know.

I may get you to proof read it for spelling errors and such if you're up to it....Hopefully I will get a bunch of people to proof it before I post it up.

Thanks very much for the offer.

As it stands now, It looks like i just MIGHT have space for it on my University account....not sure yet tho. I think I have 30-something pictures included....

Hopefully this will be completed by sometime next week! Just depends on what I have goin on, and how busy I am.

Finished the write-up and HTML code this evening...just now.

I believe I have enough space to host it on my University's server.

I will get it hosted either tonight, or tomorrow afternoon...

The link will be sent to several people to proof read it for mechanical and/or grammatical errors.

Thanks for the patience.
