Hey I'm 15, and I have a couple questions about the 300ex. First off would it be a good bike for mainly trails for me, or will i out grow it quickly. How does it compare to a z400 or 400ex? Thanks

i ride my friends sometimes and it is a good trail quad. the front end is really lite so it cant climb hills worth a **** other than that it feels pretty good on the trails. its agile with a decent amount of power but it cant stack up to the 400s

yep the 450's should be left to the racers. There is no reason really for a non racer to have one. The 400's are almost as equal in power to the average trail rider.

straight up, if I didnt race I wouldnt have a R. Then again, if I didnt race I wouldnt own a quad....lol

Go for a 400ex.
More stable, very smooth power, easy to ride, and plenty of power when you need it. Very upgradable and very very dependable.

it depends on how big u are but a 300ex is a great quad for some un that is kinda smaller. i race a z400 and a ltr250 i fell like i am perfice size on bolth. my 300ex is still a great quad to ride but racing its not good for me cuse im way to big. im 16 and had my 300ex sence i was 14 and i just bought my quadracer. the z400 has alot of power for some one that hasnt riden a bigger quad but its raly fast and fun. i race mx and i can out run 450r's and yfz450's and 400ex's. the z400 has a mostly sotck motor besides a pipe and cams. my 300ex did me good for 3 years of racing and i can in 3rd against the 450s in a mud race. get wat ever u fell comfortable on and what u can handle.

I dont race, i own a 300ex that i have modified for just woods riding. Full of yourself alittle....dont ya think?

I know countless people who buy quads to do yard work and just to get around. A little arrigant.(No harm towards you just the way you worded that made me think.)

Maybe he said that because in his eyes he doesnt need a quad, unless he races. that is what he wants to use it for, and if he's not gonna do that, maybe he thinks he doesnt need a quad. Why would that make him arrogant and full of himself?:huh

if i where you id move up to a 400, but 300's are good for trails too. if you wanna jump your best bet would be the z, it has the best shocks out of the 3

yeah i did word that weird. Its just that I live in the Philadelphia suburbs so theres no places to ride that are within 1.5 hours, so I just race. I have gone free riding 2 times in the last 2 years....lol

i had a friend with a 300ex, that thing was damn reliable but if you do alot of water rideing it kinda sucks, countless times he got water in his oil, we checked the oil set up nothing was broken, even had a mechanic check it out..for your age..id say get that 400ex man honda admits its one of the most reliable quads they ever built, its wonderful for trail rideing (cept it has no reverse, if you have no muscle..dont get it for trails tight situations it really sucks belive me).

i was 14 when i got a 300ex and my cousian had a kfx400 and it wouldnt keep up in the trails....next year came around and i got the 05 400ex and it was an awsome change! just wat i needed for wat i did! i grew very bored with the 300ex and didnt want to dump all my money into it.
when i got the 400ex i threw and hmf on it and it was awsome! for u i would say get the 400ex or the z both awsome bikes altho i would have to say the 400ex is easyer to keep up but go test ride both of them and see wat u want!
hope this helps good luck!
