No. I don't have any but your bigger trucking companies look for people out of deisel college. Most of the guys that go thru deisel coolege are total dumbasses. They get to the real world and relize that it's not all it's cracked up to be. In college everything is right in front of you on a table or stand.

i agree with the others.. very nice work.. look into yacht manufacturers if you want evenmore prestige.. true wood craftsmen in that field are getting rare..(literally a dying breed)

i work for a marine products manufacturer (as in yachting type marine products) in the engineering dept.

i help develop new products as well as training on the older products for boat manufacturers and their dealers.. im often sent out as a field repair technician to wherever the boat is..
ive seen all US coastal states including the great lake states, Puerto Rico, many parts of the UK, Virgin Islands, Bahamas, alot of Canada, Mexico, France, Italy... the list goes on and continues to grow..

its an unbelievable bit of luck on my part.. the places its taken me wouldve been beyond my normal reach otherwise..
in fact, im sitting in St Thomas US Virgin Islands this very minute.. been here for a week..
all last week i was in South Beach Miami.. in 2 weeks im scheduled to go back to New Orleans for 4 days, but that might change due to seminar conflicts.. all on the company ticket..

although it hasnt made me wealthy, i can truly say im satisfied with my life thus far.. which ironically less than 3 weeks ago almost came crashing down when i passed a blood clot through my brain(basically like a stroke). i was incapacitated for about 2 hours until it cleared.. having just turned 40, i thought i was looking at the rest of my life..
im all gooder now and i was out jumping blacktop roads and hill climbing that same weekend.. :D

advice to all: always, always reach for the brass ring.. even if it seems too far, its that much closer the next time..

oh.. and our gangs personal motto: just go limp!! :blah:

Thanks to all.

Yeah, I did some work for one client's 40 foot boat. New gunnel rails, entry door and "brightwork" (I think that's what the trim is called on a boat) Replaced all the teak with mahogany which looked great for about 2 years then the sea salt got to it. Also I did the kitchen- New cabs, appliances, counters, etc. It's just that everything is so damn tiny. No work space. Everything is made to make the best of space available. Not to mention, I'm about two hours from the ocean and marinas. I did look into it though, because the money can be really good.

I envy your ability to see so much of the world. That must be awesome!

That's the truth!

My cousin started about 15 years ago. He had some old sedan with a push mower and a weed whacker in back but kept at it and really worked his butt off

-and now-

2 houses - 1 paid off already, 4 pickups, 2 mason dumps, 2 cab overs, rack body dump truck, plows for most of them, 2 bobcats,2 backhoes, cherry picker ( tree division), You name it he's got it. His crew is from 15-20 in the summer and 30-60 on bad winter snow removals. He's 34 and he's loaded. So, with a lot of hard work ,you can definately make serious coin! Just goes to show, you don't need a college degree to be successful.

Thanks Pappy!:D
