i personally like the 18" rims,20's are ok,but my personal opinion would be to stop at 18",anything over would be just for the bilng-blang factor

i know exactly what yall are saying when the old caprice's should not have rims on them... hell yall need to come to south alabama. if i was a bettin man, i would deffinately put my money on this area as being the worst about toasted caprices ridin on rims.

but the caprices are fading out... everyone wants to see how big of a rim they can put on crown vic's these days:rolleyes: :scary:

Nothing wrong with a nice set of big rims. Only problem is that they are 8 lug, which means they aren't going to fit on many vehicles.

those cars are hideous their is such a thing as too big.

Anything bigger than 18'a is a lot more weight and pointless to put on a car.

a truck is a differant story, its got the height and the wheel wells for wheels that big. but when you have to lift the car (car being the main word here) it is absolutly retarded, i drive through Youngstown quit a bit, and if you know Youngstown Ohio its kinda shadey to say the least, those dealers out there like to rock the Oldsmobiles out there rollin on they 26s with theys chrome fade tint. i dont understand the point of lifting a car, and i highly doubt those trannys like turning 50lb wheels, and those brakes have to be screaming. and talk about an expensive flat tire, i thought my 19s were expensive to replace i dont want to think about a 26

Shop I work for out of Des Moines. We have a set of 30" Asanti's on our H2.

The 32's and 34's were just announced at SEMA last weekend. Big things happening! No pun intended.

just curious, what do a set of 32-34's cost with tires......10,000?

^^ lol...10,000 the tires...not to menchoin the rims.

I angered many people when i did this to my camaro, but hey i liked it.
Plus its just a v6 so it has nothing but looks and sound going for it anyway.

Thanks, see the problem with other people was hey thats a camaro why would u put 20's on it, and i simply said because 22's woulnt fit. i love big rims but when you get over a 22" your just going to big and it doesnt even look right.

underpowered
11-07-2006, 09:11 AM
Why, why would you do that. 18's are plenty big, any more than that just looks dumb. i will stick my my little 15's, they loo great IMO. lifted cars are jsut dumb. you gotta have 6" lift on most truck to fit 34" tires, let alone on a car. i will never get into the whole Donk thing. i would drive a ricer before one of those, and i would not be caught dead in rice.

Yea it's insane, a lot of the time it's not even the wheels that jack up the price, it's the tires! A lot of times the tires are the same if not cost more than the wheel itself. I woulnd't mine some 30's on mine though ;)

Call it whatever you want. That will not stop the fact that wheels and tires have a HUGE market. What you call stupid, I call increased net profit. It's all about business. Something I am sure, if I look around, everyone on here would be able to give me the ins and outs of. After all, your all "experts".

It just amazes me how judgemental people on here are. As far as I am concerned, however someone wants to spend their money, it's NOT my concern and, neither is it yours.

Seriously no it's not. Depending on the vehicle. Size can affect a lot. 23's on my truck fit perfect, very very minimal scrub and look great.

Again different strokes for different folks.

my buddy just got back from SEMA show and has a picture of a 36" tire with a 20" rim and tire sitting inside it. The 36" looks insanely big :eek2: He said 30" s are the norm out on the westcoast. 24"s are still rare on the eastcoast :ermm:

for the guys saying anything over 20" is too big..obvisouly you are way behind the times or you are over 50..LOL Unless people stop buying the biggest wheel they are never gonna stop.Like the other guy said its 8 lug..so there are only a few vehicle that can handle the mass of that 34"s

This is my old suburban..on 24's this is when 24's first came out and were the biggest thing on the market..I think they fit very nicely and if it aint filling the fender well it aint big enough!

Abrannan19- That suburban looks really nice with the 24s...Bel air looks awesome with the 20/22 combo and the semi (joking) you got has the right set of rims on it.

I have 20's on my blazer and once its bagged and body dropped it will have 22's. The 20's look like 18s with my blazer sitting stock right now.

The "donks" done right have so much money invested into them its crazy. Chrome everything, and its always a motor with balls under the hood. Im not talking about the donks done wrong here. I have a DVD its called "King of the streets" and that all it is is donks. I'd guess these guys have nothing less then 60k invested into these cars. Everything is done right. So yeah these guys got the power to push these huge rims and get sideways with very little throttle. Not to mention stop on a dime.

However I would be scared to see one coming up behind me, for fear of them not upgrading the brakes on the car.

Im not a donk hater, nor do I love them. I love customized anything. I prefer mini trucks.

People could argue the 28s on a caprice all day long. We could also argue that lifting a golf cart and putting rims/tires on it is pointless also (Not bashing lifted carts). But hell if I could use a lifted cart I would have one, but there is no point in it but looks.

That just my opinion on the situation. We all have them. Im sort of nuetral in this conversation. I like a clean done right donk. I dont like lambo doors they are played out, and people that drive with them open always give me a good laugh.

Im not hating on the lifted carts. I clearly said I would own one if I had a use for it. IE driving around my land that I don't have. Im just saying its all for looks like a car with a lot of money put into it. I said I like anything custom, I just admire the work put into almost anything. I do have limits and lambo doors is one of them.
