Hello, can i just put a K & N air filter on without the jacket or do i need one of those for it to work.

If you mean "outerwear" then yes you can just put the filter on, but it would be better to put the outerwear on and take the lid off, make sure you rejet.

I only put a jacket on mine when it gets cold outside... lol... j/k... but really it would be a good idea to put one on.. even if you have the lid on it.. you dont want anything stuck in a K&N filter.. you can rip the paper filter..

i run the outerwears airbox cover, not the actuall filter cover. I would highly recomend either one.

If you run in dusty conditions (where you would most want to run the outerwear), stick with UNI. Otherwise, no, you don't need to use the outerwear. I have been using my filter for years now without one.

dont mean to thread jack, but do i need to rejet with a filter, and whats the best filter to get? my stock one got mud on it, and it cleans up like sh*t

I run a K&N with a Outerwears Prefilter and Outerwears Airbox cover with no lid. Also rejetted to 165. I live in Arizona wear it is dusty as Sh**!:eek2:
