sprocket specialist or sidewinder will make you any size you want.

CAUTION: You probably won't be able to run a skid plate (unless you custom make it) because the sprocket will stick down too far.

You may also need to purchase a larger chain if you are going that big in the rear.

I am aware of both things.. I ride only dunes w/ an occasional mx race so rear skid isn't a concern..

yupp, but a 45t for the 400ex is not a off the shelf sprocket. not to many people make them, so of course it is gonna be a little pricy.

Why not go with a 13/41 or 13/39 setup?

Just curious, why do you want to gear it so low?

This is going on a C-Dale not a 400ex.. Our stock gearing is 13-42..I run tall 21" paddle tires on monster dunes and this makes the gearing about 13-40 w/ the size of the tires. I can't go down on the countershaft as nobody makes a smaller sprocket only one tooth bigger. It's not that I need it as I have a 44t.. I am looking to catch 4th gear at redline and this will do it for me.. Right now I'm in 4th, but only at about 9000rpm on certain hills.. This will get me to 11,500rpm's. When you run shorter gearing you can short shift as the rpms don't drop off as much since the gearing is closer together.. You can also undergear a quad.. Meaning you are actually losing speed by gearing to short and this kills performance. In esseance this is like dropping one tooth on a 400ex, becasue I am adding three to the rear.. My bro's Yoshi 450z runs a -1 counter and +2 on the rear w/ 21" Gliders.. With 18" Turf Tamers for mx I run 14-40 gearing and I can start in second gear easily..
