I have a 1998 300ex but i hate the electic starting becuz of all the wires. So im going to switch to a 250x motor. MY question is what all is needed to make the swap complete and for it to run properly? Thanx.

FN RIGHT!!! kick start is the way to go!! As far as I can think, you should have no problem as long as you leave the CDI, and coil, and get decompression with the engine.

nah you need the wire harness. Thats about it. Then a clutch with hot start. When I say wire harness, I mean the entire thing. The two quads both have different rev limiters.

I am not really sure on that, but I would tink that the 300 would rev higher considering the longer stroke, but then again Im not sure. Someone will find out.

haha i hear ya, but kick start is fun at some points in time..espessually if you got an engine that fires up quick, i wish i could do it to my 400ex but it would be fairly complicated

WTF a Honda that won't start??? If it won't start don't wish for electric, just fix the dang thing so it will purr with a kick or two.

push button is sweet. but im coming over from a blaster so i have had my fai8r share of kicking my guts out and ner start so im over it. i personally would never even consider a kicker for the rest of my life. bag the idea and keep pushing the little red button.
