I would just like to hear some of your preferences, stories, or experiences. I'll have my race motor (its a 4 stroke) back soon and Im debating which air filter to run. I've used both in the past, but never on this expensive of a motor. Any thoughts..................

i like K&N, but depends on where you ride. in dusty stuff, i would stay away from K&N, but in other conditions i like it. as much as i like K&N, i would say an UNI will filter better overall.

Yes both are good filters. I prefer k&n. I've never had any dust in my airboot, and I ride on dusty quarry roads.

im with rooster,,, im gonna be running a K&N soon with the air box lid off and its really dusty by me and my trick is to run it with the outerwear and the lid filter screen so yea thats my 2 cents!:D

if its gona be really dusty... dont go KN.. I UNI is a better filter.. but KN had great flow.. I like my KN and all but worry about Pit and sand riding..

i dont have to worry about the sandy places. but for 400exfan thats woundering its just best and would make is easier to clean if you had that slip on filter over the air box and then the outerwear. thats probly the best bet but im kinda woundering the same thing

i ride in really dusty places and i had a k&n filter and it killed my engine. i sucked in dirt and it ate my rings (i cleand and oiled it after every ride). but if you are riding in places were there is no dust then the k&n is a great choice. but over all i would say the UNI is a better choice.

make sure you get an outerwear.. just so things cant get stuck in your in your filter.. you dont want to pull pickers off your filter..
