woodpecker problems?

any1 ever have woodpeckers bangin on their house? for about 3 weeks i had this problem, and id wake up and stomp around to the living room and bang out the walls, sometimes id have to walk outside to chase him.

now hes tearin up every side of the house, and ever since i i found my pellet gun i have loaded waiting every morning, as soon i as i wake up, i slowly creep around and as soon as i sit up in my bed the knockin stops and the woodpecker is gone. i dont know how the hell he knows. before i found the gun he didnt give a chit if i was yellin or stompin until i got outside. usually when i chase him he would come back within a half hour, now that i have the gun he never comes back

i could get a fake owl, but im so pissed off this thing must pay.

you could try traps....a rat trap mite work...put sumthin on the trigger like peanut butter...or just find a new route around the house to shoot em

if u thumb tack or nail baggies to the house when its windy and those baggs are flappign against the house they hate it, my neighbor had this problem, thne put up the bags and they dont come back any more, hope this helps

LMAO, oh and it is illegal to kill songbirds...i dunno if the woodpecker is catagorized as a songbird..but u better look into that before u start setting traps and stuff. a pellet gun is the best bet, cuz that won't kill the bird, just hurt it alittle

it is illegal to kill, but to me its illegal to put holes in my siding. if i waited in a tree i bet he wont come. for the first 3 weeks he stayed in one spot now hes all over the place puttin holes everywhere. at first i didnt wanna kill him now i want to torture him to death

It's a woodpecker, not a bald eagle just shoot it with your pellet gun. If you can't manage to get out there without him hearing you, be quieter about it. I can't see how that thing is pecking away and it can still hear you.:confused:

Man,
all you have to do is take an aluminum pie pan, poke a hole in the top of it and put a string thru there, and tie it to something on the side of the house. Normally we'd tie it to a tree branch to keep black birds out of our cherry trees. Anyway, it banging around should scare him. Maybe..... he might be too smart. Good luck lol :ermm:

i really wish i could put like a mace sprayer in the hole, and fire it remotely, that way he cant see me coming out he will be on the ground flappin like a fish on land. i was also thinkin about just shootin straight thru the wall from the inside of the house :D :D
