drag racin

i know its better 2 start in 2nd when drag racin, but since i got my 400ex i try to start in second but it kinda bogs out and then goes. i give it quite a bit of throttle, even on the rev limiter. any suggestions?

are you dragin on pavement or dirt.. if pavement I use 1st.. I find it really helps for the first 15feet.. but in dirt.. i start in second and work my clutch.. you have you taken you airbox lid off? that help a bit.. but if it starts to bog.. pull the clutch slightly..

before i started modding my 400 i would spin taking off in 2nd completly stock. and now i still got the stock tires and i hit the rev limiter when i drag taking off off in 2nd. i need new tires bad!!

Most people I race w/ come out in second on their 400s (unless they're pretty much bone stock). The key is slipping the hell out of your clutch. Terrible on clutches, but that's the price u gotta pay to be the first out of the hole.

so if u only did it occasionally it wouldnt b much of a problem

if ur draggin on asphalt, pull inthe grass and spin ur tires in the dirt this will let them spin a little on pavement. start in second gear on the rev limiter dump the clutch, it will spin pretty bad when u get movin a little jus slide back to increase traction this will get u out the hole real quick!
