is there any way to put on a k&n filter without rejetting without your quad running too lean

tape some of the filter up.. tape in little sections til your quad stumbles at WOT.. then take a little bit off til it stops stumbling at WOT...
thats the only way without jetting..
cause you have to limit the amount of air getting in..

ya gotta rejet, its just better to rejet then doing the taping it up trick.

Not really, I mean you are letting in more air, so your engine needs more fuel or else it will be running lean.

We run a K&N on my dad's stock 400EX and it runs fine. I have a K&N on my 400 as well but also an exhaust so I rejetted the main and needle, and adjusted the air/fuel mixture. I don't think a K&N will let in that much more air that you have to rejet. See how it runs at wide-open throttle.
