Price is a little too steep for me. I'll stick with my 360 ;)

i havnt bought a video game since regular playstation....but i play my sega and super nintendo sometimes....i love the older games...the new ones are so bad

my friends dad is building the new ps3 he said that they have a test cd and it is a jet that is going M2. i gess the ps2 couldnt even come close to keeping up and would just lag but the new ps3 had no lag what so ever. but i will say that that price is high!

If 600 for state of the art technology is expensive but $600 for 16 pieces of steel welded together and powdercoated a pretty color isnt???

You get what you pay for. Technology can be expensive, especially when its brand new. And sony has shown that when they say $600 it means $600. Unlike some other system that came out a while ago, where you had to buy 15 diff accessories jacking up the total price, and in the end u still have less than the ps3.

I have the option to get one on day 1 but im not sure if i wil end up buying the first version. I dont wanna deal with the little wrinkles every system is bound to have...

but paying 600 for a nice set of A arms still has some kind of resale value after a couple years....the PS3 in 3 years will be worth nothing...thats what i hate about technology

After market parts $4000 (ROUGH Estimate)

I don't think ATV's and Parts have much of a better resale value.

Hell, look at a car, the second you drive it off the lot u loose a ton of ur money. People will be paying above retail for used ps3's for 3-4 months EASY.

The video game companies lose a ton of money on the system. If you think about the features you would get on a computer it ws be well over 2k. They make a ton of money on the games so it's worth it for em.

They have there share of problems just like the 360. I want one but I'm probably going with the 360 when that time comes. I also heard that they had some overheating problems too. They brought some out to an expo and 3/4 of them caught on fire, so I heard.

I believe the XBOX was the only (first) system that made no money on the hardware - they rely on software, gaming profits to make up for it.

the the xflop... Microsoft lost a ton of money. But the concept isnt a bad idea. Im sure sony is taking some kind of a loss on this system but i dunno.

what i find funny, is that right now, bluray players are what, $1000? When the ps3 comes out, its gonna be $600 for the bluray player, and a frickin high def gaming system. i don't think that its a bad deal at all..

If it was just 600 i could afford it.

But 600 + 50 tax + 60 for one game + DVI TO HDMI CABLE i cant afford.

so instead ill make some profit selling it on ebay for nearly double...

...and those company's are making a HUGE profit margin on them right now to make up for R&D costs. Unlike PS3, they are not going to sell out of them for the next 3-6 months. There cost's must be inflated.

I'm not sure but I heard somewhere that your not going to be able to sell it on e-bay. They will be able to block it somehow. But not sure because I see some on there already and it didn't even come out yet. Maybe that's just the pre-order that you can buy. A friend of mine said that they will cancel you e-bay account if you try to sell it on e-bay. I think he's full of it.

Ur friend isnt full of it he is just wrong.

Ebay has strict rules about selling preorders. You can do it though. One thing your friend is probably confused about is that paypal freezes the ballances in your paypal account until you provide them with a tracking number for the system. Its an annoyance but its to protect buyers against fraud.

HDDVD Hold something like 40

Dual Layer DVD's hold about 9

November 17. Good getting one, though. They've been sold out for months. By about April of next year you should be able to walk into a store and buy one (not kidding).
