I have an Outlaw, it has the main spring then a very small second spring, that is completly colapsed with just the weight of the quad. I was thinking about replacing that spring with a longer heavier spring. To make it like a dual rate setup. Does anyone know where I can get just springs, or a listing of springs with rates and lengths? The inside dia. of the spring is 1.88in. Eibach lists a 3" "helper" spring but they don't list the rate.

That is a self sagging spring, if you put on a stiffer one it will hurt the handling not help it. You want your center of gravity as low as possible not tall and tippy.

I don't want to make it any taller, couldn't I just use the preload adjuster to compensate for the longer springs?

Then your suspension will be pretty soft. Why do you want to get rid of the SSD setup? The stock suspension on the Outlaw is one of the best stock suspensions out there.

I'm not sure what ssd is. What do you think of the hpd triple rate spring set up for the Outlaw?

Self sagging device. Its what most of the aftermarket shock companies have gone too. It lowers the quad without loosing travel. I don't know what the HPD is but the stock Outlaw that I race tested on the shocks were dang near perfect.

They would great if they had rebound adjustments on them. I am very happy with my Works Black Widows.
