i race mx on a blaster right now or did and now im ready to move up to a new quad but i have to buy my owna dn i have found that predators are somewhat cheaper and i like them a lot better. I like the power and the way they feel. Would they be good for mx and i would race at some local tracks in the quad c and 16-29 quad class so the 500cc shouldnt be a problem. Any input is appreciated. thanks

Get a pipe, air box mod and jet-kit, it makes a world of difference.

im going to be racing my pred. did a couple practices already. for a novice racer, it is fine. mods are in my sig. the TLD's have great suspension and the power is good once you pipe it and do something with the intake.

however, if i had to do it again, i would have rather saved up more money and just got a 450. they are much lighter, they will produce more power when you start to modify them, and more suited for MX. this is from a motocross perspective. for a rugged recreational rider, the pred will do everything and more.

For the level your looking at using it for it will make a fine platform for you. Its already wide and easily made wider with aftermarket rear hubs and offset front rims. I will not lie to you though....

They ARE heavy, but not to the point that you can't ride it. I would stear clear of an 03' with my first choice being an 05 and up. The 03's were the first attempt by Polaris and I feel they missed the mark. It can be a fine machine. Just expect to replace wear items faster than on the jap quads.

what i was going on is my buddies 06 pred. He got it about 2 weeks ago and i love it. I ride it all the time on his track and love the way it feels. Has awesome power and like the way it feels to me. I just thought that it would make a good quad for me since i will be running c class then maybe move to b class then a with it. There is a guy at my local mx track (ballance moto x) and he wins a lot in the pro class. He is running agains national level yfz's and 450r's. He just has wider hubs and offset wheels, pipe, new intake, holeshots, and spring and revalve kit on his 05 predator. They cant touch him?

well if you are already like the pred that is a strong option. i would reccomend testing out some 450's and then go fromthere.

Flynbryan19 nailed it on the head; the pred is pretty good allaround, but it is a bit heavy and the normal wearing parts tend to wear a bit quicker than the japanese quads. but if you plan on racing ANY quad, you need to be prepared because parts wear out quick no matter what. good luck!;)
