someone with really great knowledge of ford windsor engines plzz read 302/351

ok i got a 351 with what we think is a burnt valve. cause when it ran it kinda missed and sucked your hand fast to the tail pipe like pop pop kinda deal. anyways i got a 302 that smoked but ran fine. the years are very close 91 and a 92 the 351 is the 92 so anyways i was wondering if the 302 heads were the same and able to fit directly onto the 351 motor??? any idea plzz help me im getting tired of seeing my truck in the back of the garage not running

The heads are bassically the same, but i believe the 302 head uses a 7/16 diameter head bold and 351W uses a 1/2 diameter bolt, almost possitive on this.

No, 351 and 302 heads are not interchangeable, the water jackets do not match up, some do and some don't. I don't remember which ones do not line up. If you try switching heads you'll have more then a valve issue on your hands. Just find the side the bad valve is on and have that head re done.
