if you get an HMF slip on with a quiet core insert...does it make it lose power and second are you able to take it in and out yourself

No, unless you dont rejet, and yes

Yes you lose power (it does obstruct the flow). It isn't detramental to the power unless you are doing time trials at the local track.

You can simply remove the core by using the supplied allen wrench and unscrewing the 3 bolts that hold the end cap on. Once you have removed those screws, you can pop the end cap off and put it in or take it out.
