250EX/250X handle bar cover on 300ex

Just wondering if a 250ex or a 250x handlebar cover would fit on a 300ex. I want to keep my headlight and with my new hand guards the stock cover does not fit. I currently have a stainless plate for my key but would like to have something a little cleaner looking. thanks

I know the 250x bar cover will work. I think the 250ex one will work also but I'm not positive.

u can cut the plastic cover so it fits with the handguards....or u can drill a whole on the side of the plastic for the key switch

Yep they should work...you may even get a 450R to work...if you use the 450 bars

250X, and 300EX cover are the same
options
1)cut it
2)leave it off and mount the key on the gas tank cover
3)get rid of the key all together
4)maybe a 250EX or 450R cover may fit and only set in the center of the bars.

Well I dont want to mount the key switch on the side, thats where it was when I bough it and I dont like that, I have slowly tried to clean this bike up, and I had tried to cut the factory handlebar covers(which I had to buy used but they were cheap so no big deal) but I really didnt like the was they look either. I saw a cover somewhere that just mounted in the center and worked with the 300ex headlight, thats the one I am wanting but I dont know what friggin bike it is off of the 250x or 250ex....

Here's mine I have stock bars with the 250x covet and I like it alot it looks 100x better than the stock cover or nothing.

Does that one hook into the headlight? What bike is that one off of????? if you dont mind?

It fits right into the light with two little tabs and thats the one off the 250x

What year should I look for, I really like the way that looks. Nice and clean and stock!

I think it was 87 250x. It was red and I painted it black

Great, I am gonna get on honda parts world and see if they make a black one and then scope out ebay. Did you ahve to move anything or cut it or was it a direct bolt on.

those came off of any year (87-92, no 89) 250x. they were red and blue only...not a black...

simple just 2 screws and there's even a hole for your vent hose
