How do you guys like your kickers? I am looking at trading my 06ER to get a 07 kicker. How do they do on a dead engine start? How do they start if you stall it?

I have the 06ER converted to a kicker, I have not adjusted the valves yet, I've only put about 5.5 hrs on it since I bought it used. I think once that I get the valves adjusted it will start good. As for stalling it, I have to find neutral to start it, it has the HC Stage II in it and I heard that it is a mother to start in gear. I know a guy that has the same problem with his 05 with the HC stage II.

Johnny Hale out of OK did the conversion (JH Racing)! He is a great guy to work with and talk to about these things!

Colby from C & D knows his stuff too! I use JH cause he knows this bike.

Well I called the local dealer and they are trying to find me a 07. I hope they do, I want one bad. I've had enough of my ER and don't want to spend the money to put a kicker on, I would rather start with a fresh machine.

Take my advice......FIND A KICKER!!!! I think in the long run, you'll be better off. I wish I could have waited for the 07 kicker, but i got impatient, but I'm getting ready to add the kick to mine.

Yeah I know all about it. After leaving the line almost last at my last 2 XC races, I decided it was time to get something different.

If anyone ends up with an 07 kick you will be very lucky. They are very rare. Dealers are calling everywhere for them.

im sure the kicker will be better on the starts, but ive heard they have the same hard starting "when stalled hot" problem from a few people

Dave shifting to neutral probably is the best bet to restart them, because that's how a lot of the dirtbikes are, you have to get them back to neutral. And since the engines are now more similar to the dirtbikes that makes sense. That will prolly help us the most when we get our kickers!

I called the dealer to see what they found out and I was told they haven't been released yet. I ended up calling American Honda and was told they had no information on the release date.

I Have An 06 Kicker and as far as cold starts go i Have No Problems 1-3 Kicks Usually. Unless I Forget to turn The Gas On But When I Have Stalled The Bike If You Dont Find Neutral It Usually 10-15 Kicks. If You Find Neutal Its Usually 5-10 I Have Come To Find Out. But That Beats The Hell Out Of Tearing A Starter Out And All That Other Crap My Buddy Puts Up With On His ER

the e start takes longer to start in a dead engine start race. with the kicker it starts much quicker. if you dont race xc then the estart is fine.

I've seen the price anywhere from $6000 OTD to way above that. Mine was around $6,600 or so OTD because they were only finding it for me. I'm glad I got the '07 kicker, I am happy with it so far. I've been told they start even better after you get some time on them.

I have a 06 kicker and it starts great cold or hot I think you have to do alot more jetting in the 06/07 than the 05 but once you get it right it's a great bike. I also have a 07 kicker ordered and I was told it would be in on the 7th.

I have n O6 kick...starts on the first few kicks 90% of the time. Hot start is deff a big help tho. As for in gear mine starts but it is deff harder then in not in. Aslong is your jetting is on n valves and right then you souldn't have a problem. deff wait for the kick tho. i had to do the same thing for my 06

Is the electric start that much of a piece of ****? Im shopping for an 06 and have always owned kick starts. It looks like the kickers are harder to come by so let me know guys what you think. Also is there some kind of invoice price like on cars but on atv's that we can go by to not get burned on price. Thanks for the help.

Does the 06/07 kickers run an open kill system like the 04/05, or a closed like the ERs?
